Slow Oil Flow and Slow Pumping Fix : Part 1 (The Common Cause)

How to fix a slow pumping pump Today I am going to walk you through an easy fix that is extremely common and extremely annoying. Have you noticed your shops oil pump, pumping slower then normal and the oil flow getting slower and slower. Some times it will pump so slow nothing even comes out of your oil control gun. Well, I just had a customer with this today. He called me in a panic saying his pump is dying and its bearly pumping, send me a new one! I said hold on, 9.5 out of 10 times there is a quick solution to this problem. This problem is not with your pump but a tiny little screen located in your oil control gun swivel. Do you have 5 minutes I can walk you through a quick check. I will go through the steps now so if your reading this and have this issue, you can easily fix it your self and save some money. Note: if this does not fix your slow pump there is a another issue please contact me for a fix, I will do aslow pump part 2 in the future. First, unplug your air supply line to the pump. Second, pull the trigger on your oil control gun to relieve any oil pressure. Third, unscrew your oil control gun where it threads onto the end of the hose its connected too. Fourth, look into the end of your oil control handle were the swivel is you will see a tiny little screen, pull that screen out with a small pick or flat head screw driver. You will see that this screen is covered in debris such as felt like material, old teflon tape, or crap from the tank or black pipe oil lines, Either way it needs to be cleaned. Once it is cleaned put the screen back in the swivel (put it back its there for a reason, duh) and screw the handle back onto the hose. Make sure you use teflon tape or pipe dope to make a good seal. Hook the air back up to the pump and its magic no more slow pump and no more taking an hour to put 6 quarts in the customers car. I have attached pictures to give you a better idea of what this will look like.
