Thread forming fittings have special hardened threads which allow the fitting to be screwed into a drilled hole which eliminates having to tap the hole. When installed, they force a rearrangement of the metal to conform with their own thread design, which is leak tight and permanent. They can easily be replaced by another thread forming fitting or standard fitting. All thread forming fittings have a yellow zinc finish and can withstand a 70-hour salt spray test.
